Homework Week 2

Random stuff I learned betwen March 10rd to March 16th 2025

This week is a bit of a slow day for me at work, but I did learned a thing or two of random stuff.

  • When machine washing stuff, make sure you already cleared the pocket of that stuff. I left some tissue and it break away, causing some of my clothing to be dirty with white stringy stuff.
  • I learned that my Vario 150, can run on 1 bar of fuel for a very long time, it was from Denpasar Timur to Kerobokan. Around 40 minutes of riding. I know Vario have a very bad fuel sensor, but I didn’t know I have so much fuel left. Can be good or bad thing.
  • I tried actual Gelato for first time at Masimo Sanur. It was tasty and that particular resto have ‘Baby Cup’ that is cheap af. Very recommended.
  • There’s this Pasar Sindhu at Sanur, that I went to and I found so many foreigner here. Many foreigner, Korean, Chinese, Australian, Indian eating like Indonesian. Weird view but a very nice one.
  • This week at Gym, I tried InBody Test for the first time. I found that I have 31KG of skeletal muscle (Normal), but I also found out that I have 38.5% body fat. Very bad, I aim to have 20% body fat. I know my body got very fat recently, but seeing it in number really is something. I don’t know how they work, but now I have a way to measure it I can do something about it. “What get measured, get optimized” am I right.
  • My phone current’s wallpaper have this written on it, “Do it tired”. A screenshot of TikTok video I saw maybe a year ago. I tried using this so much this week. As long as I breath, I can do it. Yeah, I went on a date twice, cycling, running, treadmill, and gym. I did those, while I am already am tired. But I still manage to do it. I cycle from my kos to office to gym to my kos around 20KM, and then code, and then weight lift and treadmill the day after. Stuff I usually skip when I am tired.
  • I went on Car Free Day Renon for the first time today (Participating first). There’s so many people here, so many street vendor. Like, I actually don’t realize people love doing this stuff. I went from Bangli at 6AM in the morning, arrived at 7, slow jog until 10, do random other stuff, and back to Bangli. Funny stuff, Bali’s weather is very weird recently. Around 1PM it is hot, very hot even for Bali standard. I even have to stop and take a rest on the way home, then 10 minute later just as I enter Bangli, boom. Storm, heavy rain.
  • This week I focus on Project Logline, rewriting it in Encore. I design stuff with what I think microservices should be like. I actually very like it. Each module have their own database and talk to each other as if they’re separate system using API. I also do some video processing and signed url upload on S3. Very complex system with a lot of moving stuff. But since each module is very seperate from each other. It is somewhat enjoyable.
  • Still related to last week, deploying Inventory Control. This week I struggled because my staging and ‘prod’ live in the same physical server. Some other system also live in the same server. They fight for resources. My system usually already took so much resource, but the physical server somewhat manage to be able to do it. But adding another environment, an Airflow pipeline, and a backup service for my data warehouse cause the entire server to lag. Just 5 minute of lag, other division already ping me. Damn.
